ICQC-104...peaking out from behind the curtain...

I'm finally close enough to finishing the ICQC-104 Course that I have included dates on the Class Schedule of Open Registration Dates.
There were moments, days, weeks this summer that I wondered if I'd even get this (or any other classes) written. It has been one long hot summer for me. But, not to dwell on that...what you need to know is that ICQC-104 WILL occur this year!

It will cover different types of Applique' work to include:
Traditional Hand Applique Motifs
Embroidery Slips
Silkie Over-Stitching and Frames
Raised Embroidery

This a true "intermediate level" course, requiring your concentration, time, and patience!
It is challenging but not advanced IMHO.
The course does require that ICQC-103 be completed first because it covered the basic surface embroidery techniques...expanded upon in the ICQC-104 course.

More news...I'm pretty sure I can get the ICQC-105 "Ribbon" course written this month...hopefully. No dates on the schedule yet, as I need to stitch a couple of more motifs and write those modules...but I'm trying to be where a class can be opened for registration in November.

On a sad note...there is no way I'm going to get the ICQC-106 "Stumpwork" module done in time to take registrations this year. The health issues that overtook me this summer really wiped me out...physically, mentally, and spiritually. I'm beginning to get my feet back under me. But I have come to realize that I can't be "superwoman" any longer. So, sorry to let you know..but I'm only human. Having trouble believing THAT myself...but getting older is just no fun. I need to be better at "pacing myself" before the rug gets pulled out from under me for good...not just for a few weeks!

So sorry to hear that you have been poorly you need to take care of number one. I have learnt that my brain does not always realize that my body just cannot keep up,its all about pacing. Please take care and look after yourself.
Hugs from across the pond Pippa

Oh, so sad to hear about your health issues. Kathy, just be reminded, you are a precious "superwoman", not because of all what you have done (which is so amazing and so generous and I thank you so much for it!!!) but because of who you are! Precious, amazing, creative, motivating, encouraging, a wonderful teacher with a big big and generous heart.I do not know you in person, but this is what I feel and felt being in the first course and stuck in the second one( for simliar reasons....).
Be very much blessed and I hope you will recover and find new strength in slowing down and somehow reorganising life in a new way!
Warm hugs from Switzerland, Martina

Dear Kathy, You are an amazing person with so much talent. I am so thankful to be able to take your classes. I pray that you continue to heal and regain energy. I, too, am learning to accept less energy and more health issues. I am really looking forward to your new classes! Dawn

I'm glad you're starting to get your feet under you, again, and I hope the improvement in your health continues. I heard a lot about your courses but until I finally took one, I don't think I understood the amount of time, energy and heart you put into each course. I know we all appreciate it and are grateful that you care enough to pass on your knowledge. Thank you!!!

I'm so excited to take the 104 class! I've got all those hexie blocks that still need inspiration! I love to have embroidery and handwork to do in front of the tv, and do more when I have an "assignment" and time line. You are wonderful to put so much time in this, but you do need to take time for yourself, health, and family. Thank you.

Kathy,
You are in my thoughts. Having reached an age myself where I can't accomplish what I used to is so frustrating. You take care of you and enjoy what you are doing. You are exciting many people. Our CQ group is doing some of your classes and it is so fun to see their excitement. They are so talented anyway so it makes it especially fun to see them learning new things or being reminded of things they use to do. Thanks again and hang in there.

Kathy, I am so sorry about your health problems, but so glad to hear that you are recovering. YOU COME FIRST! Some of the ladies were so eloquent above & I cannot improve on any of it. You have my very best wishes and will be in my prayers tonight. GOD BLESS YOU!

Kathy, I can't believe how much you managed to fit in but your inner self is telling you that it's time to pace more. You are definitely superwoman because of the inspiration you are giving to lots and lots of people all over the world and that has nothing to do with your pace but because of your talent, passion and generosity. I have so enjoyed each and every class I have taken with you as your love for handwork and, indeed, for others comes across so clearly. I don't think I am wrong in saying that we all would want your first priority to be to take care of yourself. Hazel x

Every once and awhile special people come into our lives. You are one of those amazing people who makes everyone feel special. I'm so sorry to hear you've been ill and pray that you will feel better soon. You are right, you are not superwoman, just a woman who needs to take care of herself. My love and care are on the way. Best, Jean K
