Goodby Sweet Soul

The world lost a true kind soul this week, and I shall forever miss my friend. Thoughts and prayers for her family and her friends that have to bear this pain of loss.
Talia, you touched my heart with your love and friendship and I will forever be grateful...

Woo Hoo!

It's raining! Yeehaw!
My tomatoes were gasping...and the squash have just about given up!
I sure hope everything looks better tomorrow after this steady shower we're getting right now!
I didn't get a single thing accomplished in the house today...spend a huge chunk of time checking out my dear nieces wedding dress. We are altering it...to add more lace and a long bow; and the veil needs work. Oh, and she wants me to do wedding jewelry for brides maids!
Gives me a headache just thinking about all the work...but, it will be that much fun too!
So, of course...I said YES!

Flashback Friday 6-31

Remember my Grand Grandmother Farmer...from a few weeks ago....
We turned up this old photo...and the women in center is an earlier photo of Granny Farmer. The young boy she is holding...is my Grandfather Robert.

Sweeter Than Cotton Candy

Look at this little darling sleeping.
Chevy

There just isn’t anything better than a good baby! Chevy, my nieces’ little bundle of joy spend the morning yesterday at Mom’s. I held her and she giggled and jumped up and down looking at my loud colored blouse. We had such fun. Then as I held her in my arms, she fell asleep. I had a hard time giving her up to her carrier!
Later on, I realized that I was a GREAT AUNT! Wow, that’s a rude awakening! I feel like I should start shopping for my walker and cane soon!
Reminds me of Aidan’s little enlightenment when she was two years old…”Nana, you have no memory…cause your hair is white.”. Yeah, she was right about that!!

Speaking of Aidan…here are some photos of her “garden”. She has a playhouse in the back yard. The front section has a little garden spot…mostly daffodils and her rose bush.

But, we also added two cherry tomato vines…one in each front corner. Hopefully, they will both do well. One is already having “baby tomatoes”.

We also planted a regular bush tomato on the front steps in a pot…and Aidan waters it almost every day. We’ll have to stake it and tie up the limbs before long so they don’t break off under the weight of the fruit. If you don’t have a garden…consider a couple of “pots”. They are great as distractions for little ones too! “Wink!”

Welcome Little Raylan!

Raylan is the newest addition to our family. He is my grand-nephew...my little sister Jan's son/DIL first child. He is 2 1/2 months early...and weighs 2 lbs 12 oz. He will be in the Neonatal ICU for 4 to 6 weeks until he gains enough weigh to go home. Mom is doing good...Dad is a nervous mess, but doing fine too!

Photo is a little blurry...but it is from Jan's phone...and I pulled it from Facebook...so that's even worse!

A bit of trivia for you...I was also a preemie. Born at 1 1/2 pounds...then lost weight! Had pheumonia when I was 3 days old. But, I certainly made up for it. Hey, perhaps that explains my love of food!! I HAD TO EAT...so it ingrained in my brain! Yeah, that's the story I'm going with!!

Hugs to all!
